鈥淕eography is unique in linking the social sciences and natural sciences together. There are two main branches of geography: human geography and physical geography. Human geography is concerned with the spatial aspects of human existence. Physical geographers study patterns of climates, landforms, vegetation, soils and water. Geographers use many tools and techniques in their work and geographic technologies, including GIS, are increasingly among the most important emerging fields for understanding our complex world.鈥 鈥 From the

绿帽社 has a on top of Sangamon Hall at the Springfield campus. It provides data points for geographic studies and that you can follow for your own interest. From a camera view looking north over Lake Macoupin to the current temperature, humidity, pressure, wind speed, precipitation and more. Hourly observations, daily observations and stations graphs are also available. 

Degrees & Certs

The geography program at 绿帽社 has a partnership agreement with several colleges including SIUE, EIU and ISU.

绿帽社 offers an associate degree program in geography to prepare students for transfer to a four-year college or university, and a certificate of completion in geographic information systems (GIS).

Cost

Geography (GEG) classes have standard tuition rates. For the 2023-2024 academic year (fall 2023, spring 2024 and summer 2024), these classes have an in-district rate of $137 per credit hour. Get more information on tuition and fees.
